Calendula is a medium sized plant that can sprawl a bit but is non-invasive. It does best planted in a group of 6 or more plants. Under ideal conditions, Calendula can grow up to 15 inches tall, and a foot wide.  The foliage is minimal compared to the abundance of beautiful flowering blossoms.  Blooms are short-lived and require, dedicated deadheading to keep a continuous succession of blooms.  Calendula is what is known as a "trap plant" and will attract pests such as aphids from the rest of your garden.  (Packets contain 20 + seeds)

Watering: Regular watering is preferred, but Calendula can do well without supplemental water, and may actually stress the plant if especially dry conditions prevail.

Fertilizing: A layer of garden compost spread in the garden before sowing seeds will encourage healthy growth, yet over fertilizing will produce more leaves than flowers.

Light: Full sun or part shade.

Spacing: Plant seeds in a row, allowing 5 inches between seeds

DO NOT PLANT in the vicinity of Potatoes, Fennel or Sage as it is a heavy feeder and will pull nutrients from those plants.

**Plants were grown organically and seed harvested Spring of 2026.
